Le Rose 2023 BIO

Le Rosé from Domaine Ligas is made from 100% Xinomavro grapes. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed after a short maceration period. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with wild yeasts, and the wine then ages on the lees for several months to develop structure and depth. It is bottled unfiltered and without added sulfur – production is limited to approximately 2,000 bottles per year. In the glass, it displays a deep pomegranate rosé color with expressive aromas of tomato, strawberry, cherry, dried cranberry, herbs, and a hint of rosewater and Turkish delight. On the palate, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a savory structure. Notes of fresh and sun-dried tomato mingle with ripe red fruits, marjoram, delicate spice, and dried rose petals. The finish is textured, slightly saline, and lingering. A gastronomic rosé – complex, earthy and vibrant!

Recommended dishes: Pasta with cherry tomatoes and Mediterranean herbs, cabbage rolls in tomato sauce, spaghetti carbonara with shrimp or lamb skewers.

Domaine Ligas-Ktima Ligas

Domaine Ligas, a small family winery in Greece, has operated according to the principles of biodynamic viticulture and permaculture since its founding. With a genuine interest in Greek grape varieties, nature, and its richness and diversity, Thomas Ligas instinctively developed his own sustainable farming model that fosters harmony between soil, vines, animals, and people. This philosophy has been embraced by his children, Meli and Jason Ligas – both winemakers with profound knowledge, passion, and respect for nature. Today, Melissanthi Ligas runs the winery in the second generation, combining traditional methods with modern interpretations. Drawing on her family's experience and her oenological studies in France, Meli Ligas forges her own path. Open to new discoveries of local grape varieties, she listens to the precise moment of harvest and experiments with different vessels – amphorae, wooden barrels, or stainless steel – always in search of the authentic expression of the terroir. Every natural wine from Domaine Ligas has its own character – but they are all created with the same goal: to preserve the balance between nature and man and to bring the original taste of Greece to life in the glass.
