Lamda 2023 BIO
A captivating orange wine from Northern Greece, showcasing the authentic character of the Assyrtiko grape variety in its purest form. The Ligas family works according to the principles of organic permaculture, in a vibrant, self-sustaining ecosystem that promotes biodiversity and soil fertility. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and spontaneously fermented with wild yeasts. The must remains on the skins for about a week to gain structure and depth, and then matures for six months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks. The wine is unfiltered, unfined, and without added sulfur – a truly natural product. In the glass, Lamda shines amber-gold and entices with aromas of citrus zest, dried apricot, wild herbs, and a hint of honey. On the palate, it is textured yet precise, with lively acidity, fine tannins, and a long, saline finish that reflects the terroir of Pella. A vibrant, energetic wine that embodies the spirit of Greek natural winemaking – authentic, raw and profound.
Food recommendation: grilled octopus with yuzu sauce, pumpkin risotto, roasted vegetables or aged Greek cheese.
