Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco DOC 2021

Colour: Intensely bright cherry red with delicate violet nuances.

Nose : The aromas unfold charmingly and spicy in the glass. A wealth of dark fruits, especially sour cherries, sweet cherries, and blackberries, opens the bouquet. These are joined by pronounced juniper notes, white pepper, and allspice berries, which provide a robust spiciness. Hints of cedarwood and light tobacco leaves are also perceptible. The freshness is enhanced by a variety of fresh and dried herbs, with parsley, marjoram, rosemary, and sage coming to mind. The aromas of pine needles and cones, as well as pine forests, also contribute a very ethereal quality.

Palate: On the palate, the wine presents itself with a firm and elegant structure. Its fine tannins give it a straightforward and cool character. The fruit is pronouncedly acidic, and the tannins lend it contrasting, pleasant bitterness. A subtle minerality forms a solid foundation for the spice and fruit, which are similar to those on the nose. The finish is long and lingers on the palate for minutes, while simultaneously inviting another sip.

Food pairing suggestions: braised beef or lamb accompanied by rich sauces, wild boar or venison roast served with aromatic side dishes. Ideal with pasta and savory sauces, such as a spicy mushroom sauce! Vegetarian options like ratatouille or grilled vegetables, and risotto with mushrooms and eggplant also complement the wine beautifully.

Vietti

Vietti is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding producers in Piedmont. The winery pioneered terroir-driven single-vineyard Barolo and Barbaresco. While in the past Barolo and Barbaresco were often understood as blends from different vineyards, Vietti wanted to highlight the unique potential of its best sites and vinified them as single-vineyard wines. But the winery didn't only take bold steps with its top Nebbiolo wines; Vietti is also known for its exceptional single-vineyard Barbera and Arneis. The winery owes much to the current Piedmontese renaissance, which is now an integral part of the region's wine scene. Vietti has been cultivating its vineyards organically for years and is now pursuing certification. These quality efforts are consistently recognized with top ratings from Gambero Rosso, Parker, and Galloni.
