Mavrodaphne Vin Naturellement Doux

A rare, organically produced sweet wine made with minimal intervention, from 100% Mavrodaphne grapes from a high-altitude single vineyard (915 m) in the mountains of Achaia. Late-harvested, naturally concentrated, and aged for 5 years in old French oak barrels, bottled unfiltered and unfined. The nose offers aromas of plums, dried fruit, tobacco, nuts, and caramel; on the palate, elegant sweetness with spices, toffee, and a fine, lingering finish. With 16–18% alcohol by volume and 50–70 g/L residual sugar, it has great aging potential of over 20 years. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 10°C.

Food suggestions: Goes perfectly with mature cheese, desserts with nuts or chocolate, but also with braised pork with fruit.

Tetramythos Winery

Tetramythos is a certified organic winery located in Aigialia on the northern coast of the Peloponnese – a region with a rich history of viticulture and winemaking dating back to antiquity. The geodiversity, altitudes between 650 and 1050 meters above sea level, steep slopes, the cool breezes from the Gulf of Corinth, and the complex limestone soils provide the perfect conditions for organic viticulture. These factors contribute to the freshness and high natural acidity of the wines, allowing the grapes to reach full ripeness while retaining their freshness and a unique mineral texture. The story of Tetramythos begins with the brothers Aris and Stathis Spanos, who were born and raised in the small village of Ano Diakopto, where the winery is now located. From a young age, they were immersed in the world of viticulture, olive cultivation, and winemaking. In 1999, they met Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos, a talented local oenologist and one of the country's most innovative winemakers, who has been the head winemaker at Tetramythos ever since. United by their shared passion, they began to pursue their dream of crafting expressive, handcrafted wines that reflect the rich history and unique terroir of their region. The result is a wonderful balance between tradition and modern elegance—honest wines that are approachable, refined, and full of character. Tetramythos offers two ranges of wines, both made from organically grown grapes and fermented with natural yeasts through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation.
