🍷Wine of the Week - Muses Estate A MUSE Rosé 2024 | The Wine You Didn’t Know You Wanted
In Central Greece, in the Valley of the Muses, Muses Estate has been crafting wine since 1946, in the village of Askri, Boeotia. Today, the third generation of the Zacharias family continues the legacy, with a strong focus on local identity, experimentation, and character-driven wines.
Alongside classic Greek varieties such as Assyrtiko, Savatiano, Roditis, and Robola, the winery is deeply connected to Mouhtaro — a rare, indigenous grape cultivated exclusively in the Valley of the Muses. The family played a key role in preserving the variety, choosing quality and heritage over higher yields.
With vineyards at 450–520 meters and the cooling influence of Mount Helicon, ripening is slow and acidity is naturally preserved. Dense planting keeps yields low, while selected vineyard parcels are dedicated to experimentation and research.
A MUSE ROSÉ is a blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Mouhtaro
In the glass, it reveals a mouthwatering salmon hue and an intensely fruity nose of strawberry, raspberry, violet, and fresh herbs, layered with notes of Turkish delight and rose geranium. On the palate, red apple and blackcurrant come forward, supported by moderate acidity and a juicy, lingering finish.
Food-friendly and versatile, it pairs beautifully with bruschetta, Pizza Margherita, or seafood pasta.
So, is it A Muse or Amuse?
Either way, it’s the wine everyone loves — but the one you’ll want to keep close.
The ultimate spring–summer wine, definitely not a pool wine.
Playful, gastronomic, and exactly what you didn’t know you were craving… until now.
