Dionysis Kefalinos has been an olive farmer and winemaker on the island of Zakynthos for over ten years. He works with local winegrowers whose common goal is to work the soil and to find the oldest plots on the island (all with ungrafted vines!). During the 2018 harvest, he experimented for the first time with Oenos FPL to produce the first natural wines on traditional appellation Verdea (white) and Avgoustiatis (red).

Dimitris Kefallinos Verdea Nature 2019
Verdea is a wine called Apellation by Tradition and comes from the island of Zakynthos. Its name comes from the Italian word verde, which means green, meaning grapes. which were harvested early to give the final wine a higher acidity. The varieties involved in the cuvée are Skiadopoulo, Pavlos, Robola and Makripodia. The blend ferments with wild yeasts and ages in oak barrels for approximately 11 months. It is bottled in only 600 bottles without filtration or other interventions, since it is a natural wine Verdea has a particular, slightly oxidizing character. In the glass we have a bright lemon color, with golden reflections. On the nose there are strong aromas of citrus jams, candied orange peel and composted stone fruit, followed by notes of thyme honey nuts, cinnamon and clove. On the palate it is moderate+, with characteristic acidity, subtle tannins and a persistent aftertaste.
