The history and philosophy of the NOPERA winery began in the mid-19th century when the Nopera family left Malta and moved to Samos. A few decades later, the family produced a high-quality, sweet Samos wines of the white Muscat variety, a product so good that they were able to export it to famous customers such as the French company Noilly Pratt from Marseille, which is still known today for its exceptional vermouth. Nopera aims to bring the absolute and highest potential of viticulture and winemaking to the palate of consumers. By focusing on organic viticulture that respects the ecosystem, maintaining healthy vines and gentle winemaking, NOPERA wines preserve the purity and character of our indigenous grape variety.
Passerillage 2013 ORGANIC
100% Muscat de petit grains. The vines are over 60 years old and are located at an altitude of 850 m. Very fine and profound wine with Muscat and mineral notes. In the glass, dense with great mineral tension that remains for a very long time. Deep amber colored. Complex nose with intense aromas of nuts and sweet spices. Caramelized tangerine peels, maple syrup, but also honey, interwoven with some oxidative aromas. High acidity balanced with sweetness and viscosity. Here too, aromas of nuts, sweet spices, honey, with dried herbs, citrus notes, but also roasted coffee, cocoa and some mineral notes in the finish. Long and intense aftertaste.
